Prior Learning Assessment and Student Success

October 6, 2016

Webinar: 1:00-2:00pm ET / 10:00-11:00am PT

There is evidence that students who participate in Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) have higher rates of degree completion than non-PLA students.  Through research, PLA expert Nan Travers found that engagement in PLA also increases students’ abilities to reflect, problem-solve, use tacit knowledge, self-regulate learning, and have better study skills.

This webinar will focus on how the seven ATD colleges in the Northeast Resiliency Consortium developed regional prior learning assessment standards and are offering PLA to students. Hear from college representatives about how PLA is connected to their institutions’ student success agendas. This webinar will also feature Nan Travers who will describe the 5 critical factors essential to PLA programs.

This is the second webinar in a series highlighting what ATD is learning from our work with the Northeast Resiliency Consortium.

Register now for this webinar that will take place Thursday, October 6 from 1 to 2pm Eastern, 11 to noon Pacific.
