The adoption of the Accelerated Learning Program from Community College of Baltimore County. Students co-enroll in the upper level, of two levels, of developmental writing and English I. The intent it to facilitate students' movement through English writing remediation and freshman composition in the same semester, rather than in sequential semesters.
The ALP model yielded higher success rates than the traditional developmental English course for: fall 12 (26% higher) and fall 13 (17% higher). Success rates in fall 2014 for the ALP model were 2% lower than the traditional course.
