Math Emporium

The Math Emporium model at EPCC offers all developmental math students the opportunity to self-accelerate their work in DE math courses and finish more than one course in one semester, and allows students to start the repeating semester where they left off in the previous semester if they are not able to finish the course.  Students are supported by having 3 class hours per week in an Emporium section with an instructor and tutors who can give them just-in-time help.  Utilizing computerized assisted instruction with a variety of learning resources and materials, students are guided along the semester by instructors in a face-to-face environment in their Emporium section and are able to progress through the course materials at their own pace.  This program has enabled students to complete their DE math; 66% are successful.
