Houston Community College to take part in Achieving the Dream Texas Peer Coaching Initiative

Houston Community College was selected as one of seven community colleges in Texas to participate in the Achieving the Dream Texas Peer Coaching Initiative.

The initiative, funded by the TG Public Benefit grant program, is designed to accelerate the transfer of effective practices from college to college with the long-term goal of positively impacting sustainable student outcome gains in Texas.

"We are proud to be an Achieving the Dream Leader College," said Dr. Mary Spangler, HCC Chancellor, in a press release. "Houston Community College is committed to maximizing opportunities to close education gaps and help more students achieve success."

The Houston Community College system operates colleges in Houston, Missouri City and Stafford serving more than 70,000 students each semester. It is one of the largest institutions of higher education in the county and has more international students than any community college in the country. Houston Community College awards associate degrees in arts, arts in teaching, science and applied science, as well as certificates.
