Julia Lawton is the Associate Director of Integrated Student Support Strategies. In this role Julia is responsible for developing and managing ATD’s strategic assistance capacity and services related to integrated student support strategies and related transformative institutional change initiatives. In addition, Julia supports the strategic leadership and implementation of the Integrated Planning and Advising for Student Success (iPASS) learning initiative and acts in an advisory capacity for the recruitment and retention work for the ATD Network. Julia also represents and promotes ATD as a thought leader at national venues and builds relationships with partners in the integrated student supports sector.
Prior to taking on this role, Julia was the Assistant Director of Data, Technology, and New College Experience at Achieving the Dream where, in addition to supporting the iPASS learning initiative, she led ATD's recruitment and retention strategy in an effort to grow the size and impact of the ATD Network. As part of this role, Julia designed and implemented a first year experience course for colleges new to the Network, including leading the design, planning, and execution of the annual Kickoff Institute that launches each new cohort's work with ATD. Julia additionally helped ATD set up and launch its first ever set of independent fee-based service options, managed the annual Leah Meyer Austin Award, and supported the annual college progress reporting process.
Before joining Achieving the Dream, Julia served as an Account Executive in a global market research consultancy based in London, United Kingdom. In this role she managed and supported a broad portfolio of global and local clients providing data analysis, research, and consumer insight to assist in the marketing, sales, and development of their brands.
Julia holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom.
