Cheryl Fong is the Associate Director of Communications responsible for augmenting and implementing the strategic communications plans for Achieving the Dream and for Completion by Design. Cheryl orchestrates internal and external communication efforts including newsletters, web oversight, publications, branding, and supports social media efforts. She has 15 years of experience with marketing communications of consumer products, high-tech Internet services, and professional services.
Cheryl was a communications consultant for several lodging properties where she introduced new website copy and design and created their collateral. Prior to that effort, she joined Spire Associates consulting firm to facilitate communications efforts and critical-path management for several start-up companies’ product and company launches.
Prior to joining Spire Associates, Cheryl was Director of Communications and Marketing of a start-up Internet company, getacard.com. There she was responsible for developing and implementing all communications and marketing strategy. This included brand strategy, online sales tactics, media relations, management of the consumer experience as well as providing strategic vision for marketing communication.
Before joining getacard.com, Cheryl was Director of Marketing Communications with J2 Global Communications which provided first-ever unified messaging services targeted at multiple customer segments. She was responsible for all customer communiques and touch points for the customer experience.
Cheryl also spent 7 years at AT&T in various communications and marketing positions including managing a $19M P&L for one of AT&T's business Internet services. As Marketing Director, she worked both in leadership positions as well as individual contributor to cross-functional teams which included finance, customer service, product management and engineering.
Previous to her marketing and sales experience, Cheryl was an attorney with California Environmental Protection Agency.
Educational Background: Cheryl Fong attended Fullerton Community College as a high school student, earned her BA degree in government and economics with a minor in public policy at Smith College, her MBA at Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management, and her JD at the University of Colorado School of Law.
