LaShonne Barnes is the Development Officer at Achieving the Dream, Inc. In this role, she is responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive strategies for partner support of Achieving the Dream, coordination of prospect research, development and production of content and budgets for fundraising proposals, MOUs, grant agreements, and corporate contracts. She works with ATD staff to coordinate, plan and execute partner sponsorships of and involvement in special organization events, including DREAM, Fall Coaches Retreat, Kickoff Institute for new Network colleges, regional forums, symposia, and other events as appropriate.
Prior to joining Achieving the Dream, LaShonne was Associate Director of Advancement at the American Council on Education (ACE) where she was responsible for the development of strategies to increase revenue for ACE’s programs and initiatives. She played a vital role in the coordination and planning of ACE’s Annual Meeting, established and cultivated relationships with corporations to broaden the pool of viable donors for the organization, as well as initiated and implemented strategies to increase the number and renewal rates of sponsors for ACE’s Annual Meeting and leadership development programs.
LaShonne earned a Bachelor of Science in Management Science from Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland.
