Malika Evans is the Assistant Director of Programs, Working Students Success Network (WSSN) for Achieving the Dream, Inc. Malika supports the recruitment, orientation, and ongoing support of colleges and state partners in the Achieving the Dream network. Malika also assists with knowledge development by supporting the collection and dissemination of the progress and lessons learned from the funded learning initiatives and Network colleges. Malika works closely with ATD’s senior staff to support and advance ATD’s overall institutional change programming,and public engagement. In addition, Malika organizes and supports a variety of learning events, carries out various research and writing assignments, manages compliance reporting, and supports overall marketing efforts related to ATD grants.
Before joining Achieving the Dream, Malika worked with Higher Achievement’s Washington, D.C affiliate, as Lead Manager of Instruction of Events and Planning. Her responsibilities included scholar recruitment, data collection/entry, partnership management supports, site management of scholar instructional supports, events and volunteer management. She also coordinated events and in-service training's for volunteers and members of the Manager of Instruction team.
To date, Malika has served over 300 young people, aiding in their positive development, increasing their access to opportunities. Malika will continue to work towards closing the achievement gaps within under served communities.
Malika holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Women’s Studies from Spelman College, located in Atlanta, Georgia.
