Larry Litecky retired after completing 12 years as president of Century College in the Minneapolis - Saint Paul area. Century College became an Achieving the Dream institution in the Spring of 2011. As an Achieving the Dream Leadership Coach, Dr. Larry Litecky consults with Eastern Maine Community College and Bellingham Technical College (WA.). He has a particular focus on promising policies and practices for student success.
In addition to serving as an ATD Leadership Coach, Larry works with the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching on its Statway/ Quantway initiative. Currently he is also the part-time Executive Director of the Postsecondary International Network (PIN).
Prior to his work at Century and his role with Achieving the Dream, Dr. Litecky was elected to four terms of two years each at the state faculty union president of the Minnesota Community College Faculty Association. He taught for 16 years in the Humanities at Minneapolis Community and Technical College in the 1970s and 1908s. Larry served on the Board of the Center for Community College Engagement (CCCSE) from 2009-2012. Currently, he consults to Minnesota’s two-year colleges on behalf of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching’s Statway/Quantway project. Dr. Litecky also served as the Senior Vice-Chancellor for Academic Student Services in Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) during 2011-2012.
Educational Background: Dr. Litecky holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Minnesota. In addition, he did post-doctoral study in higher education policy with the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota.
