Charles Van Middlesworth is currently an educational consultant specializing in program evaluation, institutional research and student assessment. As an Achieving the Dream Data Coach, Dr. Van Middlesworth consults with two community colleges with an interest in improving data collection, retrieval, analysis and utilization for improving student success.
Prior to his role with Achieving the Dream, Dr. Van Middlesworth served as District Director for Research, Evaluation and Assessment for the Metropolitan Community College District of Kansas City for 15 years. Dr. Van Middlesworth also served 20 years at Kansas City Kansas Community College where he served 10 years as an Anthropology faculty member and 10 years as the Director for Institutional Research. Dr. Van Middlesworth’s expertise also includes research methodology, qualitative research and fieldwork.
Dr. Van Middlesworth was the 2007 recipient of the Julia Duckwall Award in recognition for energy, involvement and professionalism in institutional research from the MidAmerica Association for Institutional Research (MidAIR).
Educational Background: Dr. Van Middlesworth holds a B.A. in Sociology from Northwestern Oklahoma State University; M.A. in Anthropology from Eastern New Mexico University; and an Ed.D. in Educational Policy and Analysis from the University of Kansas.
