Cornerstones of Completion: State Policy Support for Accelerated, Structured Pathways to College Credentials and Transfer

After a year of intensive data analysis and planning, the colleges participating in Completion by Design (CBD) announced strategies for creating structured pathways to completion for more students. These strategies contain elements unique to each college. However, all drive toward helping students enroll early in program streams that lead to a major, as well as keeping students engaged and progressing towards a credential with labor market value. Stragegic interventions put forward by these CBD colleges include strategic dual enrollment, mandatory orientation, improved advising, acceleration of developmental education, early enrollment in programs of study, and close monitoring of student progress.
