About Windward Community College

Founded in 1972, Windward Community College offers a strong comprehensive liberal arts transfer program and selected career educational programs, including AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology AS degree program, sustainable Agriculture, Bio-resources Development and Management, and agripharmatech certificates. Its fine arts facilities are among some of the best in the country and include the Palikū Theatre, Gallery ‘Iolani, and high-level ceramics studio. Science facilities include the Aerospace Exploration Lab, Hōkūlani Imaginarium, Lanihuli Observatory, the Bioprocessing Medicinal Garden Complex, and the Water Quality Lab. Nestled at the foot of the Ko‘olau range on Windward O‘ahu, Windward is considered the most beautiful and diverse two-year college in the UH system. The College offers innovative programs in science and the arts, and opportunities to gain knowledge and understanding of Hawai‘i and its unique heritage. Faculty are recognized for their excellence in teaching and personal attention to student academic needs. Students can earn one of four associate degrees—liberal arts, veterinary technology, Hawaiian studies or natural science—and further their education at a four-year university, or enter the workforce with confidence after earning one of 25 certificates and/or noncredit training.
