Coach

In his role as a strategic teaching and learning coach with Achieving the Dream, Dr. Bret Eynon collaborates with team members and partners to design, test, and refine new models for the delivery of teaching and learning services. Dr. Eynon has 40 years of experience guiding equity-focused pedagogical innovation and collaborative educational change. He retired in 2019 from LaGuardia Community College (CUNY), where he taught history and, as associate provost, led college-wide change initiatives related to learning, teaching, curriculum, technology, transfer, advisement, assessment, and strategic planning. The founding director of LaGuardia’s Center for Teaching and Learning, Dr. Eynon designed broad programs that supported LaGuardia faculty in implementing high-impact practices at scale.

Dr. Eynon has been honored by the American Association for Higher Education, the American Council on Education, the Community College Futures Association, and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The national Community College Humanities Association recognized him as a Distinguished Humanities Educator. For the past two years he has served as a senior fellow in the Designing the Future(s) of the University initiative at Georgetown University and has work with ATD as a consultant, a teaching and learning coach, and a facilitator of the Pathways Coaching Collaborative.
