As Associate Director of Meetings and Learning Events, Jan Peters is responsible for managing and helping design logistical aspects of the ATD annual events portfolio, including DREAM, the Cohort Kickoff, the Coaches Retreat, spring and fall summits, and others. With Jan’s more than 20 years of experience, she has a proven track record of executing successful conferences, workshops, and webinars for federal/local government agencies and private sector companies (domestic and international). While at Campbell & Company, J Peters Management LLC, and Beacon Associates, Jan served as senior project director. In this capacity, Jan planned conferences, seminars, and workshops for the Office of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), DC government agencies, numerous agencies under the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and several non-profit organizations.
Jan also serves as the ambassador to the Board of Directors at Jamaica Capital Building Fund (JCBF), an organization that renovates schools in Jamaica, West Indies. She was a member of the Board of Trustees for EduSerc (Educators Serving the Community)/501(c)(3) Youth Development organization and a former senior scholarship awards committee chairperson with Howard County Public Schools, Parent/Teacher/Student Association (PTSA). Her passion is helping and supporting young people in diverse communities to understand how to identify their strengths to be outstanding leaders and fulfill their dreams.
