Kareema Chisolm is a recent graduate from Howard University with her bachelor’s in political science with a concentration in strategic legal management communications. She is a current member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated. Upon graduating, she worked as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters for two years while preparing to apply to law school. Kareema has aspirations to explore the intersection of education and policy and to work in education law.

How has education changed your life/your family?
Although I attended public schools in the School District of Philadelphia—one of the most underfunded and economically challenged districts in Pennsylvania—the dedication of my teachers profoundly shaped the course of my life. They recognized my potential, encouraged me to excel academically, and consistently challenged me to pursue opportunities beyond what I thought was possible. Their support helped me graduate from Pennsylvania’s first middle college high school and earn my bachelor’s degree in just three years. Education equipped me with the knowledge, confidence, and opportunities necessary to succeed, and it inspired a lifelong commitment to giving back and creating opportunities for others.
