Marc S. Herzog is the former chancellor of the Connecticut Community College System, which comprises 12 comprehensive public community colleges located statewide on fifteen campuses and serves over 50% of the undergraduates enrolled in public higher education. Prior to his appointment as chancellor, Marc served as deputy chancellor for 15 years. He has served the Connecticut Community Colleges for over thirty-five years.
Ensuring the affordability of higher education and the accessibility of its benefits for Connecticut and all its citizens has been a consistent goal throughout Marc’s career. His expertise in this area has informed community college finance and financial aid policies throughout his tenure. He continues to be called upon by system and state leaders for his guidance on financing higher education.
Marc serves on numerous boards, commissions, and committees including the Governor’s Jobs Cabinet; the Commission on Educational Technology; the Capitol Region Economic Adjustment Council; the Connecticut Public Affairs Network, the Connecticut Employment and Training Commission, the Connecticut Green Jobs Partnership Council, the Higher Education Coordinating Council, the New England Board of Higher Education, the SustiNet Health Care Workforce Task Force, and the National Council of State Directors of Community Colleges.
