Tim Merritt serves as the executive director of finance and accounting at Achieving The Dream. In this role, Tim is responsible for financial management and operations strategy and contributes with other senior leadership to the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic goals.
Tim comes to us from Building Hope, a nonprofit organization that supports the education of underserved students by providing facilities assistance, where he started as controller leading accounting and financial reporting. Exhibiting a strong commitment to financial integrity and operational excellence, Tim was elevated to senior vice president of Finance and Accounting where he oversaw the accounting and financial operations of the organization. Tim is results driven and brings a wealth of expertise in building scalable financial systems, directing financial planning and analysis, audit coordination, and human resource management. Tim is an active CPA. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and a master’s degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
