At Achieving the Dream, we work directly with colleges with one purpose in mind: To give students equal access to learning, credentials, and fulfilling careers — so they can build successful futures and create stronger, more vibrant communities. Our work to champion access and equity in higher education is made possible by our many supporters: our founding partners, our funders, and our supporting partners.
Founding Partners: Advocating for Student Success from Day 1
Achieving the Dream was originally founded as a national initiative conceived by the Lumina Foundation (founding investor) and seven founding partner organizations leading efforts to close equity and achievement gaps and accelerate student success nationwide. Throughout our first six years, Achieving the Dream demonstrated that innovative, evidence-based community college programs and interventions can produce and sustain improved student success outcomes. Thus in 2010, with the support of our Founding Investor and Founding Partners, Achieving the Dream established an independent national nonprofit organization: Achieving the Dream, Inc.
Funders: Actualizing Our Vision
Our generous funders make it possible for Achieving the Dream to realize our vision of creating a higher education system that transforms lives and communities. Funder support allows us to carry out our mission with community colleges across the country, funding programs, events, and more.
