About Oglala Lakota College
Oglala Lakota College (OLC) is chartered by the Oglala Sioux Tribe. Its mission is to provide educational opportunities that enhance Lakota life. OLC was one of the first tribally controlled colleges in the United States. In 2011, OLC was recognized as a "Beating the Odds" institution by a report of the HCM Strategist, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This recognition was given for being a Tribal college that produces a high number of Bachelor and Master Degree graduates. OLC's current average enrollment is 1,800 plus students.
