Amorim

Chief Data, Research, and Analytics Officer

With over 20 years of experience in research, data analysis, and program evaluation across North and Latin America, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific regions, Dr. Érica Pereira Amorim has developed deep expertise in conducting and leading strategic research initiatives aimed at advancing equitable pathways to education and economic prosperity. 

Most recently, Dr. Amorim served as the chief data officer at Broward College, where she led efforts to enhance data-driven decision-making and institutional effectiveness. She designed and implemented mixed-methods research, policy analyses, and impact evaluations, creating a comprehensive research agenda aligned with the institution’s strategic objectives. Her work fostered a culture of continuous improvement and strategic decision-making throughout the college. 

Before her tenure at Broward College, Dr. Amorim was the director of research and business intelligence at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, where she conducted mixed-methods research to identify business, economic, and social development opportunities. She also worked at Charter Schools USA, overseeing the development and implementation of research studies that assessed the organization’s effectiveness in improving decision-making and best practices. Dr. Amorim’s experience also included working as the manager of research at GEO Group, where she designed research strategies and conducted evaluation studies. In a previous role, Dr. Amorim served as an education researcher for the World Bank, contributing to research agendas and policy frameworks aimed at systemic improvements in education. 

Dr. Amorim is a proud Brazilian from Rio de Janeiro. She is married to an Air Force veteran and is the mother of two amazing boys.

As a first-generation college student, I recognized early in life the transformative power of education. It has provided me with opportunities that my family and I will be forever grateful for. Education not only opened doors for my professional growth but also allowed me to inspire others to pursue higher education, creating a path toward greater stability, confidence, and long-term success.
