Dr. Monique Perry-Graves is an award-winning administrator, educator, community leader, speaker, and Aspen Presidential Fellow. For the past decade, Dr. Perry-Graves has served in positions of increasing responsibility across the higher education ecosystem including instruction (Academic Affairs), communications/marketing (College Advancement), campus-wide operations/leadership (Academic & Student Affairs) and enrollment management (Student Affairs/Services) at York Technical College (a public, comprehensive community college in Rock Hill, South Carolina). Dr. Perry-Graves currently serves in dual leadership capacities at York Tech, as the College’s Campus Operating Officer (COO) overseeing community campus locations and as Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management. In her campus leadership role, she is responsible for budgetary, staff, enrollment, retention, customer/student services access, compliance, and academic program availability for community campus locations in Chester and Lancaster Counties. As Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management, Dr. Perry-Graves leads the division responsible for admissions, new student advising, and registration, orientation, academic records, graduation, financial aid, student employment/work-study, veteran’s affairs, call center operations, information/welcome center, enrollment communications and technology.
Within the community, Dr. Perry-Graves serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Association for Junior League’s International (Charlotte) and Florence Crittenton Services of North Carolina. She also serves as a member of the United Way of York County Root Cause Task Force. In 2020, she was appointed to North Carolina Central University’s College of Arts, Sciences, and Humanities Advisory Board and to the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program Alumni Advisory Council.
Her commitment to student success and innovation resulted in her selection by the South Carolina Technical College System as the recipient of the prestigious A. Wade Martin Innovator of the Year award in 2017. She was the first woman and woman of color to receive from her institution to receive this state recognition. In 2018, she was one of the first leaders from South Carolina chosen for the Aspen Institute Presidential Fellowship for Community College Excellence. Her fellowship completion was followed by recognition from the Athena International in 2019 as a leadership in public service honoree. In 2020, she was named by The Mecklenburg Times as a member of the 2020 class of the 50 Most Influential Women in Charlotte region.
