Dr. Tamara Clunis is a nationally recognized higher education leader with extensive experience guiding transformational changes in community colleges. As vice chancellor at Central Texas College, and formerly as vice president of Academic Affairs at Amarillo College, she has led large-scale reforms that dramatically improved student outcomes, including higher course success and graduation rates. Her leadership during Amarillo College’s reform era contributed to multiple national recognitions, including the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.
Dr. Clunis is widely regarded for her expertise in implementing shortened academic terms, guided pathways, and faculty-centered leadership models that close equity gaps and accelerate student progress. She has partnered with leading organizations such as ATD and the Texas Success Center to coach colleges in their efforts to scale student success strategies.
A committed coach and faculty advocate, she specializes in building collaborative cultures that empower academic leaders and faculty to drive sustainable change. Her work has been honored with numerous awards, and she continues to serve as a trusted mentor and advisor to colleges seeking bold strategies for student success.
