Dr. Ty A. Stone has a true passion and love for higher education that she first identified in her work as a professor more than a decade ago at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. Through her own personal drive to attain her degree over the course of 20 years, she has developed a strong understanding of the experiences and challenges faced by many of the students community colleges serve. She is dedicated to student success and in helping all students reach their goals.
Dr. Stone most recently served as president of Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, Tennessee. Prior to that, she served for five years as president of Jefferson Community College in Watertown, New York. She has established extensive ties with community and political leaders through volunteer work and board participation on a local, state, and national level. Dr. Stone has been recognized for her strong leadership by being named to the New York City and State Power 100 list for Philanthropy and Education in 2021 and 2022, and she is a contributing author for the second edition of the book, Workforce Development: Guidelines for Community College Professionals.
