Erica Moreno is an associate director of project strategy and operations at Achieving the Dream (ATD), where she engages deeply in day-to-day execution while advancing systems, processes, and collaboration across the organization to support long-term impact. With more than 25 years in higher education, she has a proven record of managing operations, cultivating cross-functional collaboration, and implementing processes and tools that improve organizational effectiveness and compliance. Erica previously served as director of project management at the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Before that, she worked at the Charles A. Dana Center at The University of Texas at Austin, where she supported the execution and management of higher education initiatives and collaborated with staff to produce multimedia projects advocating the Dana Center Mathematics Pathways (DCMP). An experienced team leader, she prioritizes work, strategizes workflows to improve efficiency, and manages team members to achieve operational goals.
Earlier in her career, Erica worked at the Brooklyn College Library and the Dean’s Office of Student Affairs at New York University, supporting students’ academic needs. At an immigration law firm, she interviewed clients, cataloged information, and researched human rights conditions for political asylum and violence-against-women cases.

How has education changed your life/your family?
Education has and continues to help me contextualize and make sense of my surroundings, community, and the world. Growing up in Pasadena, Texas, a suburb of Houston, I was the first in my family to go to college. Education opened up many possibilities for me and cultivated a lifelong appreciation for learning.
