Jones

A strong advocate for students and student development, particularly the inclusion and success of students, Keisha has 18 years of experience in higher education. This experience spans over four-year and two-year institutions. She started her career in higher education in Division I Athletics and eventually made the decision to transition into roles outside of athletics, but knew she wanted to stay in student services. That transition led her to the community college system, and she has worked diligently to have a positive impact on the institutions she has served.  

In addition to her passion for student success, Keisha is very passionate about equity work. In addition to her role as the chief student services officer at Davidson-Davie Community College, she also serves as the co-chair of the Equity Steering Committee and will soon add to her title chief diversity officer. In this role, she can help Davidson-Davie achieve their goal of becoming an equity-minded college. 

This passion has led Keisha to also play a pivotal role in all 58 community colleges’ work in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space. Keisha also dedicates a portion of her time to the NC Student Success Center as director of equity. In this role, she leads the equity coaches, services as a resource/coach/consultant to all colleges in the system related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and offers professional development on the topic.
