Senior Data Analyst

Dr. Shawnice Johnson is the Senior Data Analyst within Achieving the Dream’s research and assessment team. In this role, Shawnice consults with staff across departments to provide expertise and support regarding qualitative methodology through consultations and training. She contributes to data analysis, reporting, and evaluation across departments within ATD. Shawnice is responsible for and assists with the analysis and synthesis of major reports and evaluations including but not limited to the DREAM annual convening, the Equity Institute, and annual reflections. Working collaboratively with other members of the research and assessment team, Shawnice supports research efforts that strengthen ATD strategic goals and aids with varying aspects of organization events as needed. Shawnice has many years of experience leading and managing research initiatives, activities, projects, and functions at various non-profits within the higher education space, with a specific focus on policies and programming for justice-impacted students. Her research interests include individuals and families on the margins, DEI initiatives, critical theories, community-based research, and qualitative methods.

Education has provided me with an opportunity to sit at tables with change agents. It has allowed me to contribute to transformative change (inside and outside higher education spaces), so that future generations (including my legacies) can live in a society more just than the one we currently live in.
